Curriculum Day Takes Place at Grove School

The Grove School in Market Drayton welcomed pupils from nearby Market Drayton Junior School for a Curriculum Day on Thursday 31st January.

The pupils took part in exciting English and Mathematics challenges, as well as sampling some of the nutritious food. Moreover, there was a celebration of their great attitude to learning, when they each received a certificate to remember the day.

The school, which has recently become a part of the successful Marches Academy Trust, look forward to welcoming pupils from local schools in the near future to support the transition of the youngsters from primary to secondary school.

Tim Hayward, Headteacher at Market Drayton Junior School, commented: “It is great to work so closely with The Grove School particularly on supporting our year 6 pupils with the transition to secondary school.

The curriculum day has been so valuable as the pupils prepare for their SATS and the feedback from them has been they have thoroughly enjoyed the day. Thank you to all of the staff at The Grove School for arranging the exciting learning sessions and inviting the pupils to take part.”

Amy Roberts, Head of Year 7 at The Grove School, added: “The pupils from Market Drayton Junior School have had such an exciting morning at The Grove School. They have taken part in English and Maths challenges with our subject experts and asked questions about moving to secondary school. They all worked really hard and had a great attitude to learning. This will definitely set them up for their SATS and the transition to secondary school.”
