Guest Business Speaker
We were delighted to welcome Sir David Lees, former Chairman of the Bank of England to speak to our Business students this week. Sir David was able to draw on his experience in a variety of roles which included: Chief Accountant at GKN Sankey Limited; Chairman of Tate & Lyle PLC; Chairman of Courtaulds and Chairman of the Court of the Bank of England amongst others. The students enjoyed a talk on the roles Sir David had undertaken and his views on what skills and qualities are imperative to flourish in the role of a CEO or Chairman. He also explained how these skills can be developed in every stage of the students’ lives. At the end of the session our students also had opportunity to ask some engaging and though provoking questions to Sir David.
