The Grove School Uniform
We want our students to be smartly and sensibly dressed, and despite fashion trends we aim to have a uniform which is practical, comfortable and fit for purpose, but also reflects the ethos and values of the school. We also want our students to be proud of their uniform and their school. It is widely accepted that a uniform improves a child’s attitude to work and allows them to focus on learning, rather than their appearance.
A uniform also helps prepare our students for the world of work, ‘dressed for business’; the business being that of learning. Also, a uniform reduces socio-economic differences and instances of bullying based on appearance.
The compulsory uniform consists of:
- Grey blazer with embroidered logo
- Plain, white school shirt
- School tie
- Plain, black tailored school trousers
- Flat, black leather or leather look school shoes
- A plain, black V neck jumper of a fine knit type may be worn under the blazer during the winter months.
- Grey blazer with embroidered logo
- Plain, white school shirt / blouse
- School tie
- Plain, black, tailored school trousers, or a black, pleated knee length skirt.
- Black opaque tights
- Flat, black leather or leather look school shoes
- A plain, black V neck jumper in a fine knit type can be worn under blazers in colder weather.
* It is against the law for anyone under the age of 18 to have a tattoo and therefore we do not expect any of our Yr 7 – Yr 11 pupils to have one.
