Secondary School Varsity Games Event

Last Thursday saw the return of the Secondary School Varsity Games event that was held at Shrewsbury School. Like other years, this sporting fixture enabled students from across the Trust to come together and celebrate everything sport! A fantastic opportunity to learn new skills and create some friendly competition.

The results for Grove during the first session were:

• Year 8 girls rowing 2^nd
• Year 7 boys football 1^st
• Year 8 girls football 3rd
• Year 8 girls curling 3^rd
• Also- 32 students took part in the fives taster and coaching session

The results for Grove during the first session were:

• Year 7 girls football 4^th
• Year 8 girls netball 1^st

Finally, the results for Grove during the first session were:

• Year 8 boys fives 1^st
• Year 8 girls fives 2^nd
• Year 8 boys rugby 3^rd
• Year 7/8 boys curling 1^st
• Year 7 girls netball 2^nd

The overall results for the Varsity Games saw Marches in 1^st place with 41 points, closely followed by our team with 39 points. Shrewsbury Academy took 3^rd place, whilst Sir John Talbot’s also scored a respectable 30 points, coming 4^th place. Congratulations to everyone who took part, what an amazing day!
