Sixth Form students attend finals of national space science competition

Congratulations to our Sixth Form students who recently attended the CanSat National Final in York. Have a listen to the attached clip of them speaking to BBC Radio Shropshire earlier on today about their experience.

The team did amazingly and overcame seemingly insurmountable odds when the main computer board in their satellite died the night before launch. They showed true resilience and teamwork to get it back up and running for a successful second launch attempt, as well as true compassion by sharing their results with another team who had also had technical difficulties.

Overall, they only just missed out on being in the top 3, but hugely impressed the judges. We should all be massively proud of our team, even making it to the final 8 from the initial 120 teams is a huge achievement! Well done to our Drayton Under-Dogstars and their CanSat, Bruno!
