Discovery Day: Careers Convention and Alumnus Dragon’s Den Contestant

Careers Convention

Our annual careers convention welcomed over 50 local and national companies along with educational establishments into school. This was a fantastic opportunity for our students to network with guests and find out more about the opportunities available to help them decide their future study or career paths. We would like to thank all exhibitors for taking time to speak to our students, giving them an insight into their companies and offering careers guidance.

Alumnus Visit

Our Year 11 and Sixth Form students were put through their paces to test their business acumen with former Grove student and recent Dragon’s Den contestant, Pete Hill. Pete attended The Grove School in the 90’s and more recently saw success on TV show Dragon’s Den. Pete’s invention, a covered pet food bowl was backed by Deborah Meaden and has since launched in Pets at Home. Pete was in school to give students a lesson in business, with a game involving paper shapes and a varying stock market! The students really enjoyed meeting Pete and took to the lesson and challenge really well!
